It’s a sad irony to have to keep reporting the murder of Christians on a website called News of Joy, but the reality is that Christians in the Middle East and elsewhere are murdered every week. A less tolerant religion has targeted Christians for execution and Al-Qaida in Iraq recently said that Christians were justifiable “targets.” When Mubarak was still president of Egypt, he protected the Coptic Christians there. They make up only 9% of the countries population. Now that he has been overthrown, the Christians have no protection and they have been the victims in several recent group murders. 6 More Christians killed in Egypt

Pakistani Christians the victims of discrimination
The Christians in Pakistan are persecuted on a daily basis by the country’s Muslim majority. The persecution comes in many forms, from the denial of even the most menial jobs, to death. This site is called News of Joy and the good news of Jesus Christ is a reason for joy, but the conditions the Pakistani Christians face should be more widely known. They only make up 1% of Pakistan’s population and their numbers will dwindle as they are physically harrassed and murdered. This discrimination does not get the attention of “human rights” organizations though. http://www.foxnews.com/world/2011/04/23/pakistani-deprived-christian-community-say-theyre-persecuted/?test=latestnews

Another murdered Christian in Iraq
There is very little news of joy when you have to report the repeated murder of Christians around the world. One of the many dangerous countries for Christians is Iraq where there are many intolerant members of Islam who want to see all Christians convert or be put to death. The link below is to just the latest murder and attempt at mass murder. Christians are not safe in many countries in the middle east and northern Africa. They are seeing decreased rights in the U.S., where their public recognition of Jesus or God is being restricted to the levels of communist countries. http://www.foxnews.com/world/2010/12/30/gunmen-target-christian-homes-iraq-killed/?test=latestnews#

Catholic Bishop Murdered in Turkey
Another Christian victim murdered in Turkey, a country hostile to Christians. Most likely in retaliation for the incident with Israel and Turkey. The Turkish governments’ explanation does not sound plausible. http://www.foxnews.com/world/2010/06/03/catholic-bishop-reportedly-stabbed-death-southern-turkey/?test=latestnews

Anti-Christian murderers kill six in Pakistan
After the 2005 earthquake in Kashmir, Christian aid workers with World Vision went to the region to help the locals. The anti-Christians brutally murdered six aid workers, including two woman. Four others were wounded in the attack. The murders were senseless and provoked by the intollerance and hatred of Christians by members of another religion. http://www.onenewsnow.com/Missions/Default.aspx?id=930976
Christians murdered worldwide-mass murder in Nigeria
Christians are routinely massacred around the globe nearly every week. The media largely ignores this sad fact. In many countries, where the practice of Christianity is outlawed, Christians sit in dank prisons without protest from the outside world. The latest massacre occurred in Nigeria. As many as 528 Christians were hacked to death with machetes. Woman and children were not spared. http://articles.latimes.com/2010/mar/08/world/la-fg-nigeria-violence9-2010mar09 http://www.worldmag.com/webextra/16494 http://news.yahoo.com/s/afp/20100309/ts_afp/nigeriaunrest Mr. Gyong said he woke to gunfire early Sunday. “Children were frightened and began running helter-skelter,” he said. “People who ran out of town were the ones who were slaughtered….They burned my house down, and they burned my car. I lost three grandchildren.” Pastor Yohanna Gyang Jugu, of Church of Christ in Nigeria, sat outside his burned-down church, tears in his eyes. “We were sleeping and …
